Summary/Abstract: This article analyses the case law of the European Court of Human Rights on Georgia’s compliance with Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights. By analyzing several judgments of conviction, the author notes that the European Court of Human Rights deals with cases submitted to its assessment from a substantive and procedural point of view. A technique that aims to oblige the Georgian State to respect its positive obligation to prevent cases of inhuman and degrading treatment in places of detention.
