Summary/Abstract: The global and local are not a dichotomous classification and the interplay between them becomes more and more complex. The enduring nature of local responses to global changes explains the coexistence of the globalness and localness which seemingly look like contradictory trends. The restructuring outcomes pushed by global pressures come together with local reinterpretation, editing and thus with various form of hybridization. Correlatively, local cultures do not simply mark themselves off from each other; they construct, invent and sell local traditions or forms of particularity to the world-bazaar. This paper is a reflexivity concerning the complicity of the local and the global as it is seen from a double-post context (postcommunist and post-modern).
