REDESIGNING THE DYNAMICS OF STRATEGIC AREAS WITHIN THE EUROPEAN SPACE

Summary/Abstract: The contemporary world is characterized by the internationalization of communication and exchanges. We can no longer talk only about a local issue without a tie to a more general situation because the entire local situation belongs to a wider, even global, system. This phenomenon is what Mueller calls globalization of life on Earth. The Stabilisation and Association Agreement progressively applies and notable progress has been made in the area of visa policy by the agreements on visa facilitation and existing readmission agreements and through a comprehensive dialogue on visa liberalization already established in some countries and still in preparation in others. Further efforts are needed, including the use of financial instruments to combat organised crime and corruption, to guarantee fundamental rights and freedoms and to establish administrative capacity in border management, law enforcement and the judiciary, for the European perspective to become reality.
