Summary/Abstract: Henryk Krajewski (1824-1897) was active in the underground independence movement in Warsaw. He became one of members of the underground Polish government in the time of the January Uprising, 1963-64, against the Tsarist Russia. Krajewski was imprisoned and three times exiled to Siberia. Thoroughly educated (as a young man, he graduated from law faculty at Moscow University and during long-term stays in Siberia he made a lot of self-study), the last 27 years of his life he practiced as a lawyer in Warsaw, earning fame both in civil and criminal cases and trying to organize advocates` self-government.
