About comrade Ulianov and the Party of New Type

Summary/Abstract: The present article attempts to explain and analyse Lenin’s theory on the „party of a new type”, pointing out the intelectual roots of this theory that are anchored in the writings of the 19th century Russian intelligentsia. Another part of our study concentrates on the Romanian communists from the inter-war period: we demonstrate that Lenin’s new type of political party was imported by them long before their formal clandestinity. Moreover, we try to describe these Romanian „professional revolutionaries” and their behavior in „clandestinity”.
