Chosen Aspects of Interrelation between Law and Sustainable Development

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the interrelation between law and sustainable development in general, and particularly in the Czech society environment. We point out the problems of sustainable development defi nition and we examine if the Czech law contributes to the sustainable development of our society. Subsequently we enlarge the general conclusions from the fi rst part of the article by the analysis of the Czech public opinion on related questions. Further we examine if the Czech public considers the present development as desirable, which means sustainable as well. In conclusion, we bring in ideas for the improvement of the present situation, i. e. of some of the described social phenomena and thereby for the increase of the society’s sustainable development potential.
