Opinion of Czech Public about Economic Transformation and its Social Consequences in 1989–1998

Summary/Abstract: This paper argues that at the end of the 1980’s there was a consensus of opinions in the Czech society about the critical condition of economics. Since the early 1990’s two main opinion trends have been forming in the Czech society in connection with the social changes – the liberal and the social trend which differ in their points of view on the economic transformation. Considerable factors connected with a certain opinion are age, acquirements, economical activity and living standard.
