Summary/Abstract: The development of educational cultural tourism can be regarded as one of the contemporary trends observed on the tourist market. Multiculturalism of a tourist region may constitute its distinctive quality at a highly competitive tourist market. Having compared Poland with other European countries it is well visible that it is a uniform area in terms of its cultural and ethnic background. Lower Silesia represents the region which has been changing its nationality many times. In spite of the fact that currently it is ethnically a purely Polish area, the traces of multicultural heritage reminding about its past can be found almost everywhere. They present a significant tourist attraction for many tourists visiting Lower Silesia. The objective of the paper is to analyze Lower Silesia multicultural potential as the product of this region educational cultural tourism. The paper defines concepts of multiculturalism, cultural and educational tourism. The proposals of cultural trails in Lower Silesia have been presented with regard to demand presented by tourists visiting this region.
