Therefore the development of tourism economy is expected to improve the living standards of population inhabiting tourist regions. The purpose of this article is to assess the impact of tourist municipality competitiveness on its residents’ life quality. The research, based on the available statistical data, was conducted in all municipalities of Lower Silesia Voivodeship. The synthetic measure based on a development model was applied in the assessment of tourism competitiveness in Lower Silesian municipalities as well as the living standards of their residents. The carried out studies indicate the occurrence of correlation between tourism competitiveness of a municipality and its residents’ life quality. However, there is no direct connection between continuous tourism competitiveness improvement in a municipality and its residents’ living standards.
