Utilization of natural conditions in the borderland between Poland and Czech Republic – on the example of the Izerskie and the Karkonosze mountains

Summary/Abstract: The borderland between Poland and the Czech Republic in a mountain range of Izerskieand Karkonoszemountains is a dynamically developing area of our country. The natural conditions which help develop tourism play a key role in the development of this area. This area and its directions of development, strategy of socio-economic developmentand economic and intellectual potential are entirely subordinated to specificity of its natural conditions and possibilities of their utilization. The financial and infrastructuralbarriers aswell as barriers connected with the quality of life andothers limit the possibilities to directsuch development. One of the ways to stimulate the development of this area is to get help from European Union Fund −“Fundusz Mikroprojektów Nisa−Nysa POWT RCz-RP 2007-2013”. Particular limitation for the realization of selected goals is the lackof necessary cooperation between Poland and the Czech Republic in which shared projects would emphasize building a coherent image of this area based on natural conditions.
