Development programs of universities as an opportunity for developing educational offer and improving the quality of teaching at Polish universities

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the opportunities for procuring funding from the European Social Fund by universities in the period of 2007-2013. The author focused on so called development programmes, i.e. complex undertakings which involve activities designed for strengthening competitiveness of Polish universities. The efficiency of the existing forms of support as well as problems connected with procuring funds and project implementation were analysed in this paper. The analysis is illustrated with the results of seven development projects implemented by the Wrocław University of Economics.
