The development of tourism and space. Implications for tourism policy

Summary/Abstract: The general objective of the article is the identification of space transformation processes as the result of tourism development, as well as the presentation of problem areas for tourism policy resulting from these processes. The specific objective is the discussion of selected regional development theories in the context of opportunities for their application in research on tourism development. The study of tourism development was based on amusement and theme parks progress analysis. Innovation diffusion theory and peripheral theory were applied. Tourism policy analysis showed the directions of its goals changes and facilitated the diagnosis of the most important problems making their realization difficult. The research including the analysis of amusement and theme parks progress also allowed for indicating the effectiveness conditions of tourism policy.
