Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to improve the quality of the educational process by applying new forms and methods, all in order for the pupils to acquire new knowledge through a direct contact with nature and through the interaction of various activities. This paper points to the possibility of this being carried out with a relatively low cost, good will and appropriate organization and coordination of the parties interested, without the intention of prescribing patterns or recipes, but rather as a possible example to make use of what we have “in hands”, at the same time respecting the former practice and modern achievements. It means we do not have to go to the distant Finland, Sweden or Norway and to reinvent the wheel for the hundredth time. It is enough to have a better look around and understand that a lot can be done here, too, with a minimum of means. Only one has to understand and start setting a higher value on what we have. This example may strike one as being futuristic at this moment, but it will be possible to realize it if the parties interested show enough desire, and if the consciousness of the need of the return to the nature and its values matures faster. The strengthening of the general awareness of the need of preserving these vital values that surround us, will be increasingly becoming one of the major tasks of the modern education. That is why this calls for an early involvement in this process.
