Summary/Abstract: Promotion is one of the key elements in a winning marketing mix. The paper presents the most important promotion activities used by small and medium enterprises. The purpose of the study was to identify the most important promotion activities used in small and medium enterprises from Maramures County. The research was based on a questionnaire and was conducted on a sample of 205 small and medium enterprises, from Maramures county. The results of the study show that the most used promotion activities are: posters, leaflets, promotion gifts and sponsorship.
