Employee development in local government units within European Social Fund in Poland – pilot research findings

Summary/Abstract: The goal of the hereby article is to present initial empirical studies concerning employee development in local government on the basis of European Social Fund (ESF) in Poland in the perspective 2007–2013. The empirical studies were carried out in 50 local government units in 2016 in the Opole Voivodeship and Lower Silesia Voivodeship, using CATI method. The final research conclusions relate to the reasons for applying for EU projects, types of training and development activities, problem that beneficiaries of EU projects had, as well as possible directions of improvement in managing European Union projects.
