The clergy in the encyclopedic publications of the republic of Lithuania in 1918-1940

Summary/Abstract: Straipsnyje aptariami Lietuvos Respublikos 1918–1940 metų reputacinio elito šaltiniai ir jų reikšmė įamžinant žymiausius visuomenės veikėjus, taip pat jų atrankos kriterijai. Siekiant patikrinti hipotezę, kad didelę šio, enciklopediniuose leidiniuose reprezentuojamo elito dalį sudarė dvasininkai, atliktas prozopografinis tyrimas The article discusses the sources of reputational elite of the Republic of Lithuania in 1918-1940 and their significance in the creation of the „Hall of Fame“ for the most famous public figures, as well as their selection criteria. The author of this article had analysed encyclopedic publication in order to verify the hypothesis that a large part of biographical articles, in which the elite of the nation was respresented, were dedicated to the clery.
