The 50th Anniversary of the Journal History

Summary/Abstract: On May 23, 2008, Faculty of History of Vilnius pedagogical university held the national scientific conference dedicated to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the journal History. The conference aimed to liven up some fragmentary (up to now) scientific and popular history researches and discuss the most acute problems in the development of Lithuania’s history periodicals at the end of the 20th – the beginning of the 21st centuries. These issues mainly dealt with publications, specialization, implementation of innovations, and future prospects. Fourteen speakers from the following Lithuania’s history research institutions participated in the conference, i.e. from Vilnius Pedagogical University, Vilnius University, Vytautas Magnus University, the Lithuanian Institute of History, Šiauliai University and Vilnius Art Museum. One speaker represented Daugavpils University.
