Romanian interwar hospital in the light of sanitary statistics from 1938

Summary/Abstract: The author tries to recreate the image of the institution of the Romanian hospital between the two World Wars and its activity using as main sources the health statistics of 1938 and the lawsSanitary facilities of 1910 and 1930. The study looks at the number of hospitals, theirdistribution in rural and urban areas, the number of beds per hospital and the number of beds related to 1,000 inhabitants. It is which ministries and organizations were financially responsible for the activity of these hospitals, and the nature and volume health activities that were deplayed
