Summary/Abstract: The author make an attempt to solve the problem of mutual understanding between the representatives of different cultures by means of the dance as a form of cross-cultural interaction. Social activities help participants to get to know themselves, their roots as “cultural” beings, to respect, appreciate and accept diversity in a global sense. Body language in dance culture around the world is analyzed in a way that is meaningful in foreign language theory and practice to approach intercultural competence as a part of effective intercultural communication. Such a description of dance would give the information necessary to operate as a member of global society.
