Summary/Abstract: A corpus of material is collected and described making it possible to analyze the structure of various types of Russian folk movement patterns and dance forms, studied from the Russian cultural context. The article is focused on Russian folk dance, costumes, proverbs and sayings, existing in the people’s minds for many centuries as a precedent text, reflecting the history and national character. Incorporated in cultural beauty of the Russian tradition and rituals, associated with significant patterns of thought and behavior, values and beliefs, the Russian folk dance phenonon can be a part of teaching foreign languages theory and practice as a symbolic language and key to Russian world view.
