Summary/Abstract: In the paper tourism landscape issue is being discussed. In the paper “touristlandscape” term is being discussed. Distinction components and an understandingof the issue of that period is a very important issue from the point of view of the properfunctioning of the geographical environment. Tourist landscape, created by man to satisfyhis needs, should in fact be shaped in accordance with the principles of sustainabledevelopment. Actions to use its resources and values should be to preserve harmonybetween both natural, cultural environment and socio-economic activity.The main part of the paper examines the understanding of tourist landscape andits structure within (residents and tourists/visitors). The second goal was to study howimportant are those elements of landscape for image and attractiveness of chosen touristdestination – town of Zwierzyniec. Opinions obtained let us ascertain how tourist landscapeunderstood and experienced was. The study results are important and should beconsidered by local authorities in the strategic plans governing the proper developmentof the regions in the long term.
