ASPECTE PRIVIND POLITICA DE MEDIU A UNIUNII EUROPENE
ASPECTS REGARDING THE EUROPEAN UNION ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Summary/Abstract: The seven Environment Action Programmes, even if (in fact) they were/are political declarations, had/have a major role, contributing to the crystallization and guidance of the development of the European Union’s environmental policy. Although the somehow “subsidiary” character of the EU Environmental Policy cannot be denied, by reference to other “major” policies, the protection characteristic is obvious, which confers the importance demanded by such a policy. In the context of ongoing environment issues, despite the efforts made in order to limit the effects of these issues, the environmental policy and the sustainable development have become key elements of strategic documents.
