Summary/Abstract: Combining different research methods has become quite “popular” practice among contemporary researches. This is the result of common interpenetration of the different fields and even scientific disciplines. This phenomenon demonstrates research pluralism and eclecticism. Triangulation of different methods, also applies to different research techniques. However, it requires vast knowledge among people who use the “mixed” approach deals with its advantages and disadvantages and existing restrictions. The use of CATI and CAWI is an example of triangulation these techniques. These techniques have a dual character, which manifests itself on the one hand their substitutability, on the other hand their complementarity. However, it seems that second feature is much more important in the case of combined techniques use. Research indicates that the best results from their connection are achieved if CATI is an essential tool for base data, and CAWI plays the role of its support. The purpose of this article is to present the main advantages and disadvantages of these tools and determine the role played by the triangulation of these techniques in the discipline of management sciences. The source of data for comparisons were research carried out in three stages in the framework of the project financed by NCN.
