Summary/Abstract: School abandonment is one of the current worrying phenomena facing the Romanian higher education. The full occupation of the places after the admission session for the first year of study in the university does not guarantee the maintenance of the students’ interest for studying the chosen specialization and the successful passing of each year of the faculty. Thus, in order to counteract this phenomenon, the ROSE project, aimed at supporting students in risk situations through remedial, counseling and career guidance activities, was implemented at the Faculty of Machine Building of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The project was launched in the academic year 2017-2018 and was scheduled for three years. The present paper reconstructs the specific workshop activities on self-disclosure and personal development carried out by the two authors within the project. Personality development tests were given to first year students, and outcomes and results are interpreted and discussed in the paper.
