Summary/Abstract: This article describes four votive images from the churches of southernTransylvania. The first two from Prejmer and Cristian, Braşov county, aremercantile foundations, and the second two, from Teiuş, Alba county, and TurnuRoşu, Sibiu county, are noble or princely foundations. These votive images aresignificant because they testify and ascertain the initial architecture of themonuments and influences from Wallachia brought in Transylvania on political andeconomic ways.
