Summary/Abstract: The strategies used in academic learning include those methods, means and techniques that further apart more or less from the conventional transmission of information to obtain in exchange from all the parts involved an active participation and problem solving of the issues at hand. The targeted competencies are: information identification/seeking skills; evaluation and processing; effective usage of information; describing one's own way of monitoring learning and appreciating its effectiveness; developing a custom learning plan; applying the multiple intelligences theory; creating an effective time management tool; developing a set of exercises and activities for preventing educational failure. For developing every competency, the most relevant content has been chosen from the offer present in the specialty literature and that can be adapted to every professional field. The proposed issues can be approached using methods that are adapted to each learning style and to special education request.
