Summary/Abstract: The present article comes across one of the main components of the Roerichs' doctrine - the existence of Mahatmas. They are considered as great physical begins existing in the subtle bodies of different grades, true masters of the higher knowledge and power who constitute the Invisible Government. The author insists on the continuity between H. Blavatskaya's idea of mahatmas and the Roerichs' creed in the Masters. On the subject of the manifestation of the Masters, the Roerichs offer striking similarities with H. Blavatskaya. They have adopted H. Blavatskaya's idea of the Masters, including the scheme of the manifestations.
