Theoretical and Practical Possibilities of the Lower Medium-Level Spatial Division

Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the theoretical and practical approaches of the administrative regionalization. The authors attempt to present a new methodology which from one hand is theoretical, from the other hand enables the design of an optimal spatial system in terms of the demands of the population. This is presented on the example of the Hungarian districts (the level between the municipality and the county in the administrative system).
