Summary/Abstract: For the members of the princely families, the Christian holidays had a special importance, which came from the relation they had with the divinity and from the profoundly religious sentiment that prevailed over them. The days that celebrated Lord’s Birth, Baptism or Resurrection represented a good occasion for them to take part, together with the vassals, in the previously prepared ceremonies. Generally, the development of such an event included two key moments: the religious service and the feast at the princely court. On these occasions, it was visible the glamour, the grandeur and richness, which impressed the crowd and the foreign travelers who transited through Medieval Moldova. The role assigned to the princely consorts within these ceremonies is not worth being neglected, as their presence at the Christian holidays contributed to the image that the princely family wished to consolidate. Therefore, we meet the princely consorts standing by the princes in all the important moments during the year, moments that underline one more time, if there was still necessary, the princely status, authority and power.
