Summary/Abstract: The article is a brief chronological account of the theories, arising from the interrelation between cinematography and literature. The discussion is based on specific examples from the German literature from the expressionism period with the aim of answering the question what happens to the literary text when the film crosses its media spectrum. The analysis has a specific focus on German-language lyrics.
