Summary/Abstract: Changes undergoing in companies over the last years are to a large extent connected with going from a traditional approach to a process approach in managing people. The process approach in business is predominantly a customer–focused concept seeking to optimally satisfy the customer needs. Doubtless the process approach in management is one of the most dynamic, nonetheless it does not constitute the opposite of a structural approach. The two approaches complement each other in many cases enabling an exhaustive description of an organizational set up. To enable the process approach to be implemented, appropriate reengineering methods are requested to be developed, among which human resource management seems to be crucial. In a process–oriented organization teamwork in employees activities is preferred, which requires frequently changes in ways of thinking not only of employees, but above all of the management. In this paper the issues described above are explored.
