Summary/Abstract: The virtue of faith is the condition for achieving communion with God, and it is only there that man finds his rest (Mt 11:28). It is around this problem that the whole of chapters 13-14 of the Book of Numbers is constructed, which concentrates a whole series of fundamental theological themes for the discourse of the Old Testament. This is the reason why I have opted for a brief exegetical-theological analysis, at the same time introducing some elements of Jewish tradition at the beginning of the study. Finally, the exposition of a presentation of the episode in lyrical form (Ps 95) clarifies the thematic relationship of the text with the ensemble of He 3-4; the test of faith, following which, depending on the response of man, comes the blessing or the curse.
