Summary/Abstract: The article presents the evolution of the forms of CAP intervention regarding farmers’ income parity. The theory of farmers’ income parity is one of the elements of welfare policy not only in European but also in most of the developed countries. The reforms of CAP resulted in the change in the forms of farmers’ income support. The market intervention mechanisms were partly replaced by direct payments coming from CAP budget. Despite a diversified range of intervention mechanisms of the CAP, farmers’ incomes in the majority of EU member countries still tend to be below the average level of incomes in other sectors of the economy.
