  • Summary/Abstract:The concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development (SD) arise as separate and independent concepts. Today, their content, orientation and used tools are identical, both focusing on economic, environmental and social aspects in the business not only of business organizations but also of the public sector. The paper follows the evolution of CSR and SD ideas, the historical prerequisites for their emergence and differences in their initial interpretations are outlined. Then, their gradual convergence is presented as direction and content, making a comparative analysis of the most popular contemporary CSR and SD initiatives. It is supported by the thesis that today CSR is an essential element of the overall efforts to achieve sustainable development.

  • Summary/Abstract:In 2015 the European Union proposed the Circular Economy Package with the goal both to minimize management cost of production process and to reduce environmental impact on the territory. The European Commission CE establishes a programme of action covering the whole product cycle – from production and consumption to waste management and the market for secondary raw materials. EU actions will contribute to closing the loop of the product lifecycles – through the improved recycling and re-use. The goal of this paper is to study how the production of syngas, which is a synthetic gas obtained through gasification process that has some heating value, can be a crucial link for closing the loop in the waste management. In details will be explored whether the conversion of waste, in particular municipal waste, into energy and valuable products will represents a possible solution to flank to the recycling process in order to fulfil sustainability from economic and environmental point of view ensuring a more efficient use of natural resources.

There is enough empirical research to show that there is a significant relationship between the amount of recognized goodwill and the amount of management bonuses. The current methodology for impairment of goodwill shows that, to a significant extent, the impairment test is based on various management decisions and expectations related to the operation of the entity after the business combination, which leads to opportunities to manipulate the impairment tests of goodwill and the financial performance of the enterprise as a whole.

Subjective estimates are determined by analyzing the additional properties of historical data from the price dynamics of financial assets. It has been shown that this way of calculating subjective predictions allows additional parameters to be determined in the BL model.
