Summary/Abstract: The main objectives of this work consist in offering a synthetic overview of the translation theories as well as a systematization of the Romanian translation orientations. Last but not least, it aims at identifying and establishing the characteristics of the translation problems in general. In order to tackle the mentioned aspects, the author pleads in favor of an interdisciplinary approach imposed by the status that translation has acquired over the years.
