Summary/Abstract: This paper makes a refl ection about the relationship between the conservationof páramo ecosystems and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), which have been implemented since 2015. The main conceptual considerationsof sustainable development and the SDGs are reviewed, as well as considerationsabout the importance of the páramos, and fi nally, the different conservation actions ofthe Colombian páramos and their relationship with the achievement of the SustainableDevelopment Goals. The refl ection makes it possible to highlight the importance ofthe conservation of ecosystems as particular, sensitive and complex as the páramos, inrelation to the supply of environmental services that infl uence the normal developmentof different economic and social dynamics of the country, and that allow Colombia togenerate positive indicators for compliance with the goals outlined in the Sustain ableDevelopment Goals by year 2030.
