Summary/Abstract: This article of refl ection seeks to investigate the legal and normative aspectsfor the promotion of clean and renewable energies, as well as to carry out the discussionof the expansion of the agricultural frontier to increase the monoculture of sugarcane inthe northern area of the Department of Valle del Cauca, a situation that is exploited andintensifi ed for the production of biofuels under the banner of greenhouse gas emissions;However, it allows a deep action to be taken of the social, environmental and economicimpacts for the communities of the region. Finally, a series of questions can be generatedto encourage research and debate about bioenergies and their future implications.
