Summary/Abstract: The article presents issues connected with people’s names which are appellatives. They make reference to historical events, well-known literary works, popular motives from the Internet reality etc. Through entering the scope of various communication communities, they constitute important elements of culture. This type of antroponyms, used in the works of contemporary Russian writers and their translation into Polish, is a subject of the analysis presented in this article.
