ASPECTE ALE RELAȚIILOR MILITARE ROMÂNO-RUSE ÎN SECOLELE XV-XIX
The paper presents the occasional relations of the Romanian Principalities from the end of 15th century when Stephen the Great tried without success to embody the Great Duchy of Muscovy in the anti-Ottoman Crusade. After the middle of the 17th century, faced to a new phase of Ottoman expansionism under the Köprülü great viziers Romanian princes failed again to attract Muscovite in the war with Sublime Porte. Only in 1711 a short military alliance between tsar Peter I Romanov and Demetrius Cantemir, prince of Moldavia was effective but the war with the Ottoman Empire ended in a catastrophe.
