Objectives. This paper explores the anthropological difference through the analysis of bringing rescue. To bring rescue to the other should be founded on the recognition of his suffering. But in many cases, this recognition is faulty and is based on a misunderstanding of animal/insect world. Material and methods. Through a case study of two famous literary texts in which a human-beetle relationship appears (authored by F. Kafka and W. Gombrowicz), at the crossing of philosophy and poetry, the author of the article tries to approach as close as possible the experience of a trans-humanist rescue attempt. Results and Conclusions. The metamorphosis effectuates a true displacement in the relationship between man and animal but what Kafka describes is not the transfiguration of man into a beetle but rather the metamorphosis that affects the family.

The biblical roots of “The Legend of the Wawel Dragon”, i.e. the tale of the whole-eater (holophagus) from the “Kronika polska” (The Chronicle of Poland) of Wincenty Kadłubek and from the later Polish annalist testimonies in relation to “The Story of Bel and the Snake” from the Book of Daniel (Dan 14:23-27).

The first part of this article offers new insights into the relationships among church hymnals. The example of the Váradi hymnal (Váradi énekeskönyv (1566)) shows that books can be directly related to one another, without assuming intermediate manuscripts. The second part proposes the rumored Unitarian hymnal of bishop Enyedi György (George Enyedi) (1555–1597) as a source for Újfalvi Imre’s (Imre Újfalvi) (1565–1616?) 1602 hymnal.

This article examines the use of biblical quotations in the sermon collection of Enyedi György (George Enyedi) (1555–1597), the third bishop of the Transylvanian Unitarian church. Prior to his incumbency, in addition to Hungarian translations of parts of the Bible (particularly the New Testament and the Psalms), a full translation of the bible by the Calvinist Károli Gáspár (Charles Károli) (1529?–1591) was published in 1590. Enyedi’s sermon collection, surviving in various manuscripts (and currently being published for the first time), shows that he behaved like Pázmány Péter (Peter Pázmány) (1570–1637), translating the Bible himself when using a quotation in his sermon rather than relying on contemporary translations. Study of Enyedi’s treatment and deployment of Biblical quotations shows how the Unitarian Church managed toanalyze and study the Bible for everyday preaching and for their own theological stances, while lacking their own complete translation.

Addressing mostly priests and Religion teachers, but also any believer, the entire publicistic series that we commence at this point desires, in a straightforward, plain and clear manner (without proposing thematic biblical theology approaches, but by means of a rigurous selection of minimally commented texts), to bring forth again The Truth of the Holy Sacraments before the readers, whoever they might be or – why not? – lead the readers before The Truth, That „is the same for yesterday, today and forever” (Jews 13, 8): The Lord and Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, present, alive and active in all undertakings of His Church

In the year dedicated by the Holy Synod to the icons and to the painters of icons, this study shows how the icons are, for those abroad the Church, signs of the Eastern Christianity. During time, more and more non-Orthodox people appreciate the spiritual significance of the icon or at least its art value. For such reasons, Western theologians wrote books about the theology of icon, and in some Catholic or Anglican churches from Europe, the byzantine icons have been painted, for showing the spiritual bound with the Eastern Christianity. In the following, the study shows some examples of these.

The article analyzes Saint Pope John Paul II’s Notion of the Experience of a Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ, by highlighting three aspects. First, for Saint Pope John Paul II, an authentic Christian experience always contains the dimensions of ‘givenness’ and ‘inwardness.’ In other words, man enters into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ only if his heart has inwardly been touched by God‘s love first. Second, the experience of faith in Christ is dynamic by its very nature: to believe in Christ means to follow Christ through concrete acts of love and service to God and other human beings. Third, a person can have an authentic Christian experience only if he belongs to the Body of Christ, the Church.

The Sanctuary of Dolorous Mother of God in Skrzatusz has been famous from its beginnings of many graces given thanks to the intercession of Mary. And from its beginning in the 16th century there have been gathered testimonies of healings. The Church already in the 17th century established a theological commission, which workings allowed to recognize their miraculous character. Could we also nowadays, using the criteria worked out by the fundamental theology, recognize miraculous healings which took place in Skrzatusz? The history and the present of that place can encourage as to talk of fama signorum (the fame of signs), which means a common conviction of special graces of God provided in that place. However, contemporary healings to be recognized by the authorities of the Church need to be better documented and medically verified, and also there need to be a theological commission constituted.

Revelations in Fatima are unique in the history of the apparitions and the only one of this kind in Marian apparitions, because the reality they refer to is unique in the history of mankind. John Paul II called them “the message of the age”, saying that it was even more up to date and more urgent than ever. Mary appeared six times to three children: Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta in Fatima, and then Lucia twice in Pontevedra, and while she continually called for the development of spiritual life, voluntary return to God, to make atonement for all sins against the Heart of Jesus and Mary. This request of Mary still needs fulfillment, so that the world can experience unity and peace.

The topic of Fatima Revelations has been considered in many aspects, from a theological and spiritual reflection to phenomenological and psychological analyses. Any research over Fatima in the theological aspect call for discovering what is essential in the message of the revelations, their sometimes latent common denominator, and their whole content. Such a fundament allows for seeing a God’s plan embraced in the message and understanding it as an integral proclamation. The latest studies suggest that there are three common features of all Fatima Revelations. The first of them is light, which in sister Lucia’s reflections becomes Light, since “Light was God”. Children, immersed in the light, begin to take part in divine mysteries and transform into His image and likeness. The second feature of the core of the Fatima message is the topic of The Immaculate Heart of Mary. This heart becomes a gateway to a better future, a source of holiness, a vessel of grace mighty enough to wash away every sin. In the very last thoughts of sister Lucia appears one more feature, i.e. the immense Divine Being, biblical “I am who I am” (interestingly enough, John Paul II during the beatification solemnities of Francisco and Jacinta compared the experience of Fatima children to the experience of Moses). Moreover, the Divine Being is a Form of Providence, planning the salvation of the world. The three topics convey the same message, they are invitations to enter the mistery of God, to unite with Him. A Christian heart is crucial to this unity, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary presents the perfect union with the Heart of the Saviour – living in the Divine Light.

2017 is the time of jubilees related to the Marian devotion in Poland and in the world. In the universal Church, the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima is on the forefront. In Poland this year we also recall the 300th anniversary of the coronation of the image of Our Lady at Jasna Góra (1717) and the 140th anniversary of the Marian apparitions in Gietrzwałd (1877). The anniversary of the coronation of the image of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn in Vilnius on July 2, 1927, seems to have been somewhat forgotten. The worship of Our Lady of Mercy goes far beyond the Vilnius Archdiocese. It is also present in the diocese of Koszalin-Kolobrzeg (Kołobrzeg). This article discusses the preparation and conduct of coronation celebrations and presents two related documents.

The article is dedicated to the social aspect of the spiritual life of the Community o Sisters Disciples of the Cross. Analysed texts, from the official documents of the Church up to constitutions of the Community and the letters by its founder show how conventual formation and everyday life influence spiritual growth of the consecrated people. Many quotations from the Constitutions describe life of a Disciple of the Cross. They show a way to God, and to the Community, and to another human. Every sister through adherence to the law and thanks to life in grace can follow the way from the old to the new man, from the heart of stone to the heart of flesh, which means the friendship with God. To a Disciple of the Cross this passage is accomplished by giving her life to those who do not know or even reject God to let them accept His love.
