In present-day reality, the changing conditions of the lives of listeners create a challenge for the preacher whose mission is to reach his listeners effectively with the word of God. There is no doubt that in the process of communication with a particular person, it is important to properly prepare the homiletic text. Therefore, it is always necessary to be faithful to the texts of the Holy Bible present in the Liturgy of the Word and to master the ability to read them properly. For this purpose prayer and meditation of the individual biblical texts is of service. It is advisable that the preacher “carry” in himself the word of God and share it with the faithful during pastoral encounters. In a homily, considered as a preaching message, the quality of the relationship between the preacher and the listener plays an important role. It is extremely important in preaching a homily to take into account the existential situation of the listener. The preacher must remember that he should be understood by the recipients of the homiletic message. Therefore, he should continuously develop and improve his ability to observe their response. Thus he will have not only the opportunity to master homiletic skills to a greater extent, but also significantly increase the effectiveness of his preaching ministry.

In the concept of Jean Piaget, the biological and cognitive development of man takes place through adaptation and accommodation. In this way, internal systems are created - patterns through which man accepts the world. However, external reality is not automatically and holistically transferred to the inner world of man. Instead, the internal construction of the world is being done. This inner world is not a reflection of reality. It is an internal cognitive construction, different in every human being. The drawing is a way of knowing this internal structure in the case of a child. On the basis of analyzes of preschoolers’ work, one can learn: how they understand religious concepts, how they imagine the world of sacrum, what emotions they have for religious matters. In order to get to know this inner world of child’s patterns, it is worth using painting techniques as part of pre-school religious lessons.

The “Oko Jelenia” saga written by Andrzej Pilipiuk is a story about the three characters: Marek, Staszek and Hela, transferred in various circumstances, in time to 16th-century Norway where they seek an artifact called “Oko Jelenia” (“Deer’s Eye”). There are many references to Christianity and Catholicism in the novel; dogmatic, liturgical and moral issues that become the background of events. The characters pray, talk about moral and dogmatic issues, follow the commandments and fulfill works of mercy towards the soul and towards the body. As a result of the analysis of the novel, it was shown that its content is consistent with the teaching of the Catholic Church, and the saga, as a product of culture, can have its place in evangelization broadly understood and in catechesis for readers; also it can be a collection of examples and references for catechists and preachers.

In Zbigniew Herbert’s poetry, references to art play an important role in poetic imaging. Most references are related to painting and architecture, a bit less to sculpture. In the first period of his work, the poet most often invokes Greek statues, along with the beginning of his foreign travels, less- -known objects, which are a trace of personal contact with a work of art. Herbert uses the material properties of sculpture (stonework, stiffness, durability) to show allegorically the cruelty of the 20th century history and the fate of many nameless heroes immersed in it.

Piotr Natanek is the leader of a religious group in southern Poland. He claims himself to be a prophet, basing his convictions on Agnieszka Jezierska’s private revelations. According to these revelations he has the ability to know both God and his emotions. He describes these emotions to his followers in his preachings. The study is an analysis of a series of Natanek’s sermons titled ’’God’s suffering” from 2012 about suffering caused by the Church to God as well as about the effects the suffering has on God. Some vocabulary of emotions was extracted from Natanek’s narration, which then was classified according to Jonathan H. Turner’s method.
