In this paper, two models of memory organization are pre sented. The authors of these two examples are engineers, university professors: Nicolae P. Leonăchescu (b. 9 June 1934, Stroeşti – Argeş, Romania – d. 4 August 2019, Bucharest, Romania) and Julius Karl Manfred Natterer (b. 5 December 1938, Neukirken – Hagnn, Bavaria, Germany – d. 25 October 2021, Unterzeitlerdorn, Straubing, Germany). Both were passionate, active and involved teachers in the life of the institutions which they worked for, as well as in the life of the community. They had the same ambition and tenacity in organizing the memory of their work over time and acted accordingly, each providing a valid model for the organi zation of the memory and facilitating access for future researchers to the databases they compiled throughout their lives. These models of memory organization need to be known, adapted and multiplied, but above all exploited in order to create a sustainable and durable future.

It is obviously not easy for me to speak at this event, but I will try to do my best, I will try to do right by Ivo and his memory, by just specifying a few things that some of us have already touched upon and then maybe a few things that nobody has mentioned, as a way to point future researchers and students towards areas of study they might investigate in trying to assess Ivo’s legacy.
