The military and politic merits of John Hunyadi were rewarded several times by the Hungarian kingship with grants of land (estates, villages, boroughs, towns and castles) and with confirmation charters for his already owned properties. These royal charters are containing not only information on the immobile goods of the famous warlord, but in their preamble, there are precious details about the early career of John Hunyadi and genuine chronicles of his anti-Ottoman campaigns. The issuers of this charters were Wladislas Jagiello (1440–1444) and Ladislaus of Habsburg, called the Posthumous (1453-1457). There is also an interesting fact that once with the dynasty changed also the political discourse in the preamble of the mentioned charters. Thus, the „repertoire” of Hunyadi’s rewarded deeds of arms was careful elected by the king and uncomfortable topics, like John Hunyadi’s implication in the civil war between the two dynasties, were simply omitted.

O sută de ani de la publicarea broșurii Ce sînt și ce vor sașii din Ardeal

The article offers a few remarks about the author and the context in which the brochure Ce sînt și ce vor sașii din Ardeal was published. On January 8, 1919 a Saxon representative assembly adopted a declaration in which they recognized the Union of Transylvania with Romania, which was decided in the Assembly of Transylvanian Romanians, the majority of the inhabitants in this region, on December 1, 1918. Saxons were less known in the other territories of Romania after 1918. However, the historian and political man Nicolae Iorga knew them as he had visited their cities and archives. On his proposal, the German-Saxon National Council sent him a text in Romanian of their self-presentation to the Romanians south and east of the Carpathians. In addition, they asked him to handle the publication of the brochure in Bucharest and to write a recommendation foreword. The brochure was published in June 1919 and was distributed throughout the country intensively. The author of the text is not indicated and some researchers consider that Iorga wrote the entire text. In his journal the savant writes down that the journalist Emil Neugeboren was the author of the brochure. His name does not appear on the cover, probably because he did not have a friendly political attitude towards Romanians in November-December 1918 regarding the issue of Transylvania detaching from Hungary and attaching to the Romanian state. The author refers to the Saxons’ past, their economy, their culture and shows their desiderata from the Romanian state. At the same time, he highlights a new aspect of the attitude filled with understanding towards N. Iorga’s national minorities.

Istoria casei din Piața Mică nr. 25 Sibiu

It was recently discovered a document dating from 1847, an evaluation report on the house currently located in Sibiu, Piaţa Mică nr. 25. Over time, the house was owned by some goldsmiths, by the typographers’ Barth family and then by the publisher Samuel Filtsch. The document brings us important information regarding the house structure, the materials from which it was built and about its value to the middle of the nineteenth century.

Scrisori inedite în arhiva Aurel Cioran a Bibliotecii Astra din Sibiu

In the present article we want to spotlight the presence of a few letters got by Emil Cioran in his youth from the people who activated in the cultural field or in different publishing houses. The letters are to be found in the archives of Aurel Cioran, the writer’s brother. The time when these letters were written was the one preceding the burst of the First World War. There were letters signed by C.A. Donescu, Petre Comarnescu, Constantin Noica, Pichi Pogăneanu, and Jeni Acterian, the sister of the famous brothers, Arșavir and Haig Acterian. The archives we are talking about were donated by Aurel Cioran, Emil’s brother, to the Astra Library from Sibiu. These letters have both a biographical, historical, literary and a cultural importance, because these documents refer to the oppressive, gloomy and ominous atmosphere before the war. The messages of these letters are connected to the efforts of the intellectuals of those times to maintain peace. In order to be more accurate, we shall offer some information regarding these outstanding intellectuals, friends of Emil Cioran from the time of his youth spent in Romania.

Un document inedit privind imigrarea germanilor din Württemberg în Transilvania

The Siebenbürgisch-Sächsischer Landwirtschaftsverein (Saxon agricultural association), founded on March 5th, 1845, had a publicly declared goal of improving agriculture on the Sachsenboden (Saxon Land). Its main intended strategy was to attract and colonize capable, industrious tillers. A first step towards this goal was sending pastor Stefan Ludwig Roth in the German state of Württemberg, to find and attract potential colonists. An inedited, recently discovered document allows insight into the circumstances under which a family from Plüderhausen decided to move to Transylvania, their travel and accomodation to an outland life.

This study has been designed to examine the bibliometric characteristics of refereed articles published in the journals of faculty of economics and administrative sciences 40 different universities between 1977-2018. Bibliometric analysis technique which is one of the qualitative research methods has been used. The bibliometric study of 265 articles on science and technology obtained from Dergipark database has been made. The universities that deal with articles on science and technology the most are Atatürk, Erciyes and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli Universities. These articles have been prepared mostly by the authors whose title is Assoc. Dr. As a result of the evaluations, it has been determined that 95,84% of the studies on science and technology published in economic and administrative science journals are Turkish. The total number of citations of the 265 about of science and technology articles is 1123.

The article reminds the building of four mobile broadcasting units/Outside Broadcasting vans for color television by the Self Endowment Department (in Romanian, Baza de Autoutilare) belonging to the Romanian Television, in 1978-1984. The complete project regarding video, audio, intercom etc. equipment was established by the engineers of the Department. All the necessary equipment was installed on a long vehicle –semitrailer, a serial product of AUTOMECANICA Medias, coupled to a road tractor produced at “Steagul Rosu” Brasov. The semitrailer was modified to match the needs of an OB van. The Romanian team has benefited of a “know how” from PYE TVT Ltd, Great Britain. Most of the equipment came from Philips (the Netherlands).

PREHENSIUNE ȘI MINIMANIPULARE ÎN ROBOTICĂ-NOI CONTRIBUȚII

First, the paper presents the general structure of the human hand biosystem, then the significant historical landmarks of the evolution of the study of the human hand and the structural and functional characteristics of the human hand. Grip experimentation for several types of objects is presented. The adaptation of Cutkosky's taxonomy is also presented, through experiments for all the situations taken into account, to which is added the situation of holding between two adjacent fingers and holding firmly with two opposable fingers an object of relatively large dimensions. Similarly, the strong grip, according to Lyons, is experimented. The paper is highlighted by addressing the specific aspects of grips and minimanipulations for which suggestive tests are made, as well as the unitary presentation of the variety of human hand grip cases to substantiate and extend the taxonomy, best known to date, namely the taxonomy of Cutkosky. The aspects of the mathematical modeling of static grip and minimanipulation are presented. Below are the structural and functional characteristics of an anthropomorphic five-finger gripper, for which a prototype was made that was tested for different grip situations, which is controlled with a Motion Leap sensor. Finally, it is recommended to equip human arm robots with anthropomorphic finger grips of the type described to maximize the functionality of human robotic arms.

Academicianul Gheorghe Spacu și impactul său asupra chimiei analitice

Acad. Gh. Spacu (1883–1955) was an important chemist in romanian school of analytical and inorganic chemistry. He syntesised almost 1000 complex combinations. His studies reffered on coordinative chemistry, inorganical and also organical complexes. His PhD was on complex combinations of iron. He was professor of analytical chemistry and inorganical chemistry in Univerisities of Cluj, Iași and Bucarest. The omomimuos reaction, has even in present practical applications in routine analysis for calitative determinations of cations with pharmaceutical importance of 2nd and 3rd analytical groups of cations. Those complexes formed with tiocianate and pyridine can be utilised for identification of Cu2+, Zn2+, Co2+, Ni2+.
