The socio-demographic changes in Romania: An analysis from the human development perspective

The social and demographic changes registered in recent years, at European and Romanian level, have produced some effects visible in various reference areas. By this paper, we propose to achieve an empirical analysis meant to emphasize the main socio-economic changes of the last 10 years and their influence on the human society development. Based on the inventory of statistical data referring to the socio-demographic dynamics and using a research methodology based on inductive reasoning, dynamic and dialectics analysis, we will obtain some results of research that indicate: the human development is in positive evolution, even the number of population is decreasing.

Cross-Border Tourism and its Significance for Tourism Destinations

This article is concerned with cross-border tourism. It enhances the importance of cross-border cooperation in tourism. Cross-border cooperation is a form of international cooperation, along with interregional, transitional and trans-frontier cooperation. Cross-border regions often share the same historical and cultural traditions and attractive natural landscapes, such is the case of the Republic of Moldova and Romania. In both cases, cross-border regions can benefit from cooperation – cooperation can help create greater diversity and differentiation of the range of tourism and environmental products; create economies of scale and make promotion more effective, and can help better address specific problems or issues for tourism development.

Regional E-Infrastructure and Services for Research and Education in EAP Countries

In the paper considering approaches and solutions for development of modern regional e-Infrastructure resources for providing specific services to the research and educational communities in countries supported by European Eastern Partnership Programme. Over the past several years the dependence of research and education on access to high-speed networking infrastructures, to large-scale computing and other e-Infrastructures’ services is rapidly increasing. e-Infrastructure designates a new generation of integrated ICT based resources, services and is widely considered as a key enabler for scientific and social development. Such infrastructures represent a distributed medium based on high-bandwidth networks, distributed Grid computing, High Performance Computing (HPC), scientific Cloud resources and respective data repositories. The focus is made on describing the various services that are deploying in the Eastern Partnership countries to support educational and research activities in universities and research centers. Argued importance of developing of Research and Educational networks as a key e-Infrastructures’ enables. Described expected outcomes of regional projects supported by European Commission in the area on regional infrastructures and modern services deployment for research and education.

Authors of this article analyse the problem 'of closed /e/ ("e"), the famous 9th vocale, much discussed among turkologists, and tries to show state of this vocale in Anatolian dialects. Results of the survey on Anatolian dialects indicated hundreds of words with the vocale "e", and their indices were prepared in terms of regions. Results of this detailed survey pointed to some facts on regional connections among the current Anatolian dialects, and historical relationships with the Old Anatolian Turkish.

Yugoslavya-Makedonya'dan Türkiye'ye 1952-67 Kitlesel Göçü ve Bursa'daki Göçmen Kesimi

Since the "Empire"s collapse to downfall, Republic's raising to increase, from Balkans, Caucasus and Crimea to Bulgaria, from 1785 to 1989, Turkey became an "immigration country" as an importer of "mass" migrations. The recent "mass" migration movement to Turkey (according to criteria of "who has Turkish origin or who hangs on the Turkish culture") was between 1952 and 1967. Bursa has been the principal attracting center for a good many of those recent immigrants. I this research in addition to theoretical, as the complementary practical part, "sample" was taken the residents of 195 houses in Bursa. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews by household heads. Data analysis showed that, the part of immigrants in Bursa has preserved it's "inward-covered" structure on the first generation as a result of being settled in Bursa of Marmara Region, which presents similarity to "ecological-natural" and "social" environments which it has emigrate. It has continued the process of integration on the basis of "Turkish mother tongue" which was started before emigration. And with the rise of second generation, it entered to (biological and cultural) integration process with the native people and the families in "geographical-cultural" similarity and proximity distance, come first the other immigrants from the Balkans.

According to a study, of which results are given in this article, ancient people speaking in Kurdish inhabited in the north of the Black Sea, being adjacent to ancestors of the Chuvash and Hungarians.

16. Yüzyılda Kırım'da Köle Ticareti

The Ottomans completely controlled the Black Sea trade including slave trade after the conquest of Constantinople. Up to the 16th century, the Ottoman Empire met its slave needs from the war captives and from frontier raids in the Balkans. However, the increasing military resistance in Europe against the Ottomans forced them to find out other ways to meet the demand for slave. Therefore, the Crimean Khanate took over this opportunity and began to export slaves to the Ottoman Empire. It was after this that the Crimean Tatars began to organise raids into Russia, Poland and Caucasus for slaves, and they filled the Ottoman and Egyptian slave markets.

Legends, tales and epics are the literary types, which includes the folk etymology examples mostly. In this article, the folk etymology patterns in two tales which have been compiled from the Erciyes environs were noticed from the aspect of that those reflecting the perception of "how the territory becomes the country/fatherland" in public imagination. These two tales have been compiled from Kayseri region in 1980's hasn't been published yet. They are fertile for folk literature because of the motifs they include however fertile for history researches because of the historic events they include. In each tales, there are folk etymology patterns interpreting and disclosing some person and place names. In order to provide material for researchers, bath tales are completely presented in these articles.

Taking into account circumstances of the era, it seems almost impossible for these regions not to have such an influence. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a series of new new disputes with former members of the union have come into being. Because of the instability and weakness of the Russian Federation, settlements of disagreements have been postponed. The Russian solutions to existing disagreements with regional countries are interrelated. The attachment of formerly Turkish populated Crimea to Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic had not meant a lost for Soviet Union as a result of the conditions of the era of the Cold War. At the beginning of the collapse of the Soviet Union, however, the Russian attempts to change the status quo of Crimea in favor of Russia have been successful to extend. Because, the collapse of the Union to keep status quo has been a confident shelter for all republics, and also the region has become a part of Ukraine. However, if Russia will have been successful on the Chechen intervention and the settlement of existing domestic problems, without using force, as in agreement with the OSCE, it will be possible to attempt to regain Crimea. The importance of the region for Russia and Russian majority population of Crimea will make it easy for such Russian initiatives.

One of the problems preoccupying the international agenda following the deconstruction of the USSR's is the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict on Nagorno-Karabakh. Since the dispute rooted in the compulsory settlement policies of the Russian Empire could not be resulted by these two states necessitated the intervention of global actors as USA and EU with the regional actors as RF, Turkey and Iran. These developments have complicated the conflict rather than serving towards its solution. The article evaluates the background of the question and how it has become a perplexing matter.

"Kafkas Seddi" Projesi ve Türkiye

After the 1st World War, the British government oriented its influence in the Southern Caucasus to sut up a Caucasian wall composed of the three regional countries, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia, in order to stop the Bolshevik Russia and to separate the latter from Turkey. Situation changed after the White Army was defeated in the Northern Caucasus, and the three Caucasian states were brought under Soviet control. On the one hand, Turkey considered the Bolshevik Russia as a natural ally against The Western imperialist forces, then invading many parts of Turkey, and on the other hand, made use of the rise of Bolshevism as a cause against the imperialist forces, thus became very strong diplomatically.

Author of this article transfers and evaluates some information about some places in Macedonia and Thrace found in a guide-book, which was prepared by Greeks in 1911, and which reflects the Ottoman yearbook tradition. Contents of the book and its data displays that the book was written hastily and for propaganda purposes, and thus, has many mistakes. What is interesting is that many places then under the Ottoman administration were included in a book written as a guide for Greece.

Lala Mustafa Paşa'nın Artvin'deki 1563 Tarihli Vakfiyesi

Lala Mustafa Paşa, conqueror of Cyprus, bought some domains in the region of Artvin, and gifted them to the charity foundation (waqf) that he had founded. Both the means of founding the waqf, and the items put in the waqf regulations point to very interesting facts. Buying the domain was realised with the contest of its owners, and any obligation was out of question; and continuity of the waqf was warranted with fırm legal basis. The waqf directly targets to serve the society.
