The context of the information society and the knowledge society is a challenge for new education policies, which are adapted to the needs of the labour market. The labour market requires constant improvement and acquisition of new knowledge and skills, which implies a continuous learning process. Meta-competencies of information literacy contribute to the development of creative competences for lifelong learning by educating all participants in educational processes for better, more efficient, purposeful and better use, for building knowledge, relevant information and sources of information, regardless of whether information sources and information are contained in analogue, digital or virtual origin. Such importance of information literacy produces the need to incorporate these meta-competencies, as fundamental ones, into all teaching and science processes. With the further development of information literacy, in the context of changes in society, reforms within higher education, a changed educational paradigm, and ways of learning, it is necessary to define an information literacy curriculum in accordance with the principles of active learning. The aim of the paper is to present a framework curriculum for the information literacy course.

Europeana is the largest investment and project of the European Union when it comes to digitalization of cultural heritage. Although firmly connected to the European Union, Europeana is open to the non-EU part of Europe as well as to other continents, in an attempt to present as fully as possible a digital replica of the culture of the old continent. Serbia’s experience in cooperation with Europeana has been recognized as a successful story and this paper could inspire other Western Balkan countries to be more active, and besides the benefits for institutions and individuals, it is obvious that it could fill the gaps when it comes to European cultural heritage.

The cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina in all its aspects and in any time or period testifies to the complexity of life on this ground. The paper presents the flow of the written word and creation of the librar-ies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will see that exactly in the domain of writing systems and books, better than in any other medium, the presence of certain influential sphere, as well as the original creative spirit of the people of this country is recognized. In our country, four writing systems were used in the Middle Ages. These were Greek and Latin writing systems, as well as Glagolitic and Cyrillic script. The reason for this curiosity is encounter of different civilizations that have also evolved here. Also, this kind of example of use of different writing systems in a small region is unique. Through the writing systems and books, we come to occurrence of the first libraries in the Bosnia and Herzegovina. As well as the books are one of the essential elements for spreading literacy, libraries are one of the most important means to facilitate that expansion and that book can reach their readers. Libraries and library science in Bosnia and Herzegovina have passed through various phases but they have stayed true to their function throughout the centuries, to the development of culture, to the mass education and to the science. In the first half of the 20th century, it was precisely the public libraries and reading rooms that have played an extremely important role in the processes of promoting progressive ideas and educating wide sections of society. Through their work these libraries have contributed to creating preconditions for the entire social and cultural transformation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s society. Among other things, public libraries have been important actors in the processes of women’s empowerment, emancipation and education, and their reading rooms were often the only public space for sharing experiences and participating in socially beneficial activities. This paper presents activities that took place within the Muslim Public Library in Mostar from 1936 to 1941, enabling women not only to complete analphabetic courses but also to participate in the training and education of other women. Their engagement in the library has led many of them to become members of the anti-fascist resistance movement during the war and actively participate in the processes of post-war reconstruction and the building of a modern society of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With the development of digital technologies and information tools, the role of modern University librar¬ies and Libraries within the University in conducting information literacy education has become indispens¬able among the student and teaching population. Libraries in accordance with user needs and interests are developing educational content and conducting information literacy workshops. Quantitative methods of evaluating scholars based on bibliometric analysis in citation databases, as well as evaluating and ranking Universities on world rankings, are topics that have not bypassed the business of University and higher edu-cation libraries and as such need to be adapted and included in the information literacy education program. The aim of this paper is to illustrate with the example of the BiblioLab project of Campus division of the University Library of Rijeka, how a University or higher education library can participate in supporting the use of digital content and modern information tools, in order to increase scientific productivity, visibility and impact of scientific work, scientists and institutions. In addition to a brief description of the workshops, the paper will outline the reasons for selecting topics and the realization of each individual workshop.

Crowdsourcing is a new approach in the work, and refers to the active participation of users in designing content on the Internet. Social network users are creators, and are able to upload their sources and infor-mation online. By integrating the creative energy of online library communities, they improve the quality of data sources (e.g. text or cataloguing updates), resulting in more accurate search and enabling value to be added to data (e.g. by inserting comments, tags, ratings, reviews). By the venture Crowdsourcing Serbia: The National Wisdom for Better Libraries of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the volunteers base is expanding by collaboration on the project, as well as the scope of project work by adding a plural noun module. All interested parties can participate in the development of the National Grammar Digital Dictionary of the Serbian language in an open acess and use the results of its production so far at: http://lab.unilib.rs/.

Results of quantitative and bibliometric research, as well as decisions that might be made on the basis of those results and influence on certain policies, greatly depend on the quality of input data downloaded from bibliometric and citation databases. This assertion is directly connected to a high number of bibliometric and scientometric research that uncritically download data from bibliographic and citation databases, WoS – Web of Science or Scopus. This research, which has been conducted in the framework of the Croatian national project Research activity, collaboration and orientation in social sciences in Croatia and other post-socialist European countries – RACOSS, lead by Maja Jokic, PhD, analyzes the role of the classification system in downloading and processing data, i.e. making conclusions. Bibliographic records, downloaded in the period from 1996 to 2013, published in 4896 journals, represent the result of strategy on searching the scientific productivity and citation index of social scientists from 15 European post-socialist countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia). Classification of science by Scopus is based on the subject and content orientation of indexed journals.Diversity of classification system that uses the Scopus classification of a certain country can cause wrong interpretation on the basis of collected data. In this paper we made the analysis of journals and papers, and contrastive analysis of a certain journal affiliation to the field of social sciences was made on the basis of Scopus and Croatian classification of social sciences based on OECD Frascati fields of science. After the experts in this area had checked the journals and compared them to the classification system used in Croatia, the initial sample for reliable bi-bliometric analyses decreased to the portion of 44%. Affiliation to a certain field was made on the basis of the subject and content orientation of the indexed journals. Besides filtration of scientific fields, it is necessary to check the affiliation of a journal to the certain field by hand in order to get papers that belong only to social sciences. In this way there appeared a significant difference in the citation index additionally to lower number of papers and journals. The aim of this research is to warn researchers to possible and real deficiencies of input data used for evaluation on the example of the Scopus database, which is relatively reliable source of data for bibliometric re¬search.

The library in Kladovo is among only four Serbian libraries that include mobile library (in a bus) known as bibliobus. Kladovo’s bibliobus has been operating since 2010, and 95% of its users are children under the age of 14, so that the most used and the most needed library material is children’s literature. The purchase of publications for libraries by the Ministry of Culture and Information of Republic of Serbia used to be a very significant means of books acquisition for bibliobus users, but this year it has not been the case. Only 1% of the budget allocated to the library has been allotted to its bibliobus, instead of up to 50% as in previous years. In 2019, only 6 books were actually ordered for the bibliobus, and all the other purchased books were obligatory, not chosen by librarians. Thus, the paper shows why the current model of purchase is absolutely inconvenient for smaller libraries and bibliobuses. The author thinks that if librarians could freely choose the titles for their libraries, with the Comission in the advisory role, the purchase of publications for libraries would be better and more effective.

Purpose of the article consists in revealing the features of the perception of the design of periodic buildings through the prism of compositional shaping. Methodology. In achieving this goal, the following research methods were used: descriptive, comparative methods, functional analysis, methods of systematization, the generalization of the investigated problem, concreteness, scientific works on design and modeling were used. Scientific Novelty the study is that the influence of the visual style of periodicals on the general perception of the reader is analyzed, the connection of the composite structure with the essential requirements to form formation during the creation of the publication is investigated. Conclusions. The reader must comprehensively perceive the periodical and not just the individual elements. In this critical role is assigned to the compositional edition of the publication. The composition itself can combine all the numbers of printed periodicals with common artistic and technical features, namely: the method of arrangement of structural elements on the sides, sections, and sections, their orderliness; ways of isolating the materials and the individual design. Aspects of composite shaping in design are formed each individually, which is associated with the architectonics of text material. The harmonious correlation of shaping objects forms the basis of the successful design of the periodical. The perception of such elements in their integrity affects the rating of the publication.
