The book is a survey and analysis of ritual practices undertaken “for health” by the Bulgarian faithful in Orthodox monasteries. These activities include incubation, ablution in healing springs, interacting with sacral objects, the so-called Cyprian prayers, the sacrament of anointing with oils, consuming blessed food and making offerings (kurbans). The specific character of these practices has been portrayed both in the synchronic dimension and in the diachronic one, based on (post)secular anthropological theory.

A collection of data and analyses concerning women in Poland. The research was conducted among Polish women selected through random-quota sampling. Based on data obtained from qualitative and quantitative studies, the authors carry out a systematisation and attempt to apply it to the whole population of women in Poland aged 18–70. The matter of social order was developed as a rule in macro-theories such as functionalism or Marxism, which saw the order as constructed by shared norms, values, distribution of labour, power or property. The book attempts to trace the ideas of social order in the Buryat culture and its metaphoric structure using the interpretivist approach as shared sense-making practices. The fieldwork data and analysis of various literature form a grounded theory of social order that could contribute to existing sociological and anthropological perspectives.

The book presents contemporary theoretical research trends in neurogeriatic psychiatry, which encompasses neurobiological issues of human ageing and their consequences in psychical, social and civilization aspects. It analyses the relationship between the state of brain, the level of cognitive functions, measured in neuropsychological samples and the structure of utterance according to the discursive model. Analysis of essential aspects of institutional preschool care and education for young children and presentation of selected conceptual solutions.The author analyzes them against the background of two approaches: liberalism-based and "grass-roots experimenting" based on civic initiatives.
