Summary/Abstract: To optimize treatment processes, technological indicators (including quantity and metal extraction) are very often inadequate; this is why we rely on economic assessment criteria. In general, any change in treatment regime involves modification of three characteristics: concentrate quality, metal extraction and production cost. The only evaluation criterion which establishes a compromise between all these parameters is economic efficiency. This is why many technical studies - use different economic indicators that allow the assessment of the economic efficiency regarding the process. Typically, both technological and economic indicators which is analyzed only refer to the results obtained in the processing plants, irrespective of the waste treatment which is part of an integrated process regarding the capitalization of useful substances. To accurately assess the economic efficiency of the entire extraction process it is necessary to study the relationships between the various technological indicators of each phase separately and the correlation that exists between these indicators and the integrated production costs. Knowing the relationship between the variations within the parameters of the matematic relations, we may establish, for certain variables, the values that provide optimal results with respect to a given optimization criterion. The present study seeks to determine the best behaviour of operating facilities during every stage of the integrated process a so as to ensure maximum profitability throughout the economy. The method consists in determining a mathematical relationship for each distinct phase, the profitability of the phase, then, by resorting to mathematical analysis and taking into account the correlation pattern-system, the method establishes the operating plant conditions in order to both technological and economic optimal results.
