Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses a few economic aspects regarding the application of the bioleaching process. The main steps of the bioleaching procedure are then presented, as well as the performances that lead to its acknowledgement. Aspects regarding the environmental preservation are also mentioned; these aspects, together with the economic ones, prove that bioleaching is a promising alternative to the traditional processes.
