Summary/Abstract: To capitalize the poor industrial waste metals, category which includes electronic waste, concentrated sources of such metals, hydrometallurgical methods, simpler and more economical, have expanded recently. Electronic waste, or e-waste, represents an emerging problem as well as a business opportunity of increasing significance, given the volumes of e-waste being generated and the content of both toxic and valuable materials involved. The present study aimed to establish a unique technical and economic criterion in order to assess the efficiency of a electronic waste waste treatment micropilot plant, taking into account the fact that this process is economically efficient. A series of mathematical models of the overall cost of production per one tonne of waste were established, taking into account all the expenditures required by the useful substances capitalization integrated process. A model for the value of the waste and of the products at various stages, taking into account the extractions carried out and the contained metal value was established. Based on these models a criterion of economic efficiency E was established. Knowing the value of the E function, which is considered the objective function of the process, the optimal values of the quantitative extractions during the treatment process were determined, based on them, of and the optimal content of the concentrates (and, at the some time, of the optimal extraction of metals). The optimal design has been simplified, reaching a series of very simple relations for the optimal extraction from a quantitative point of view. Using the established models the results for technological flows applied to treat electronic scrap were analized. Since the economic efficiency is strongly influenced by the initial contents of the waste, the coefficient of the economic efficiency has been resorted to the optimal operating conditions for the functioning of the micropilot plant have been established the economic efficiency of the process itilized by this method was analyzed.
