Summary/Abstract: In the preparation for the instruction in Natural and Social Science we distinguish: preparation at the beginning of the school year (annual, orientational, global preparation) and the preparation during the school year (extraordinary – thematic and immediate preparation). Within the annual preparation we distinguish: planning – anticipation of the teaching time needed for the implementation and programming of the programme – approximate layout of the teaching contents. We make the annual curriculum on the basis of the prescribed curriculum, regional contents, and the school work programme. The implemental – thematic curriculum contains articulated teaching wholes, themes broken down to the teaching units. In it we envisage key concepts, educational achievements, teaching media – sources of knowledge, practical works, out-of-the class instruction, as well as material and aids for the instruction. In the immediate preparation for instruction we distinguish setting of the conception and making of written methodical precepts for the teaching activity. We can make methodical precepts as a thorough written preparation for the teaching activity, or as a sketch for the teaching activity. In practice we find different techniques for the preparation of instruction. Every teacher chooses the way of preparation that allows a full development of his personal abilities and inclinations. Pupils should be involved in all forms of teaching preparation starting from the annual through the implemental – thematic – to the immediate preparation according to their age and abilities. Every teaching activity, including the preparation for teaching, should be analysed, judged and evaluated in order to assess the value of methodical procedures and improve the instruction.
